Triple 3 chat to Sam Pedrick the latest member of our official Skateboard Team.
Sam is 20 years old and has been skating since he was 11, he lives in a small fishing village called Hope Cove in Devon. His love and passion for skating surpasses everything else and he is devoted to taking it as far as it and he can go.
When did you first get into skateboarding and how?
I started skating because it seemed so cool and yet so difficult. I wanted to get good at it .
My sister persuaded me to ask for one for my birthday and I did. At the same time I was joining secondary school and met my closest friends who also skated.
Since then I just wanted to get better so I could have even more fun and do bigger tricks
What was the first trick you landed?
The first trick I landed was a kick flip and then varial flip - I just wanted to learn more and skate bigger things.
Which pro's have inspired you to push things further?
My favourite pros were Sheckler, Nyjah, Chris Joslin and Shane O’Neil.
But also the people I grew up with because they really inspired me, I was watching them do amazing things in person and it just looked so cool.
I just wanted to learn how to do it.
What competitions have you entered so far and how did you do?
Over the years I started entering comps as I got better.
I started of with the Plymouth skate Jams, Kingsbridge skate jams and the Bantham jams. I did pretty well so I entered some national comps, like the British Championships and the Welsh Open and comps like these.
I love that I have the opportunity to skate on these big comps and to be able to compete against the best
What's your proudest skateboard moment to date?
My proudest moments in my Skateboarding life are firstly when I landed a tre down the infamous bandstand stair set.
Another would be my first nationals!
The last one is inspiring other people to start skateboarding and teaching people tricks. It makes me happy knowing someone wants to do what I can do and that they have something to work towards .
What trick's next on your list to learn?
The next trick I want to learn is a half an 270 heel on the hip and a 50-50 Nollie v out.
How would you describe your style?
I thinks my style floaty but also heavy footed.
I’m very critical of my tricks as well and if I don’t like it it has to be done again .
What's your current set up?
My current set up is an 8.5 triple three board medium concave, Krux 144mm trucks 52mm Spitfires wheels, Bones bearing and Independent hard wear
What are your goals for 2025
In 2025 my goals are to be the very best skateboard I can be.
Win as many comps as I can and grow myself as much as I can, become pro.
Also I want to help as many people as I can and show them how amazing and difficult skateboarding can be.
Most of all show to people how have fun and live there lives to the full .
